With jaw-dropping scenery, flowy Alps single track, and some of the most picturesque mountain cafes anywhere, trail running in the Alps often finds its way onto a lot of trail runner’s bucket lists. We get it! It started that very same way for many of us.
Run the Alps offers a wide range of guided trail running tours, for beginners through seasoned mountain runners. Each of our trips is rated on a 1 through 4 scale, based on how challenging the days are. (Not sure which level is right for you? See how we rate our trips.)
If you’re just getting started on trail running adventures, the Bernese Oberland trail tour, covering around 8-10 miles a day through the flowy, high pasture single track of the Swiss Alps may be just your speed.
Experienced mountain runners may want to explore one of our multi-day point-to-point trips, like the Tour du Mont-Blanc or the Via Valais both of which feature high mountain huts, no shortage of elevation gain, and remote mountain terrain that together make up a dream route.
Our guides, of course, are key to our trips – they’re highly experienced Alps trail runners who are knowledgeable about local languages and customs and are intimately familiar with the trails over which you’ll be traveling. Run the Alps guides are some of the best-known and most talented trail runners in the Alps, period. Some have run the hardest mountain races in the world, like Tor des Gèants and UTMB’s PTL race. Others have run beautiful trails in Nepal and Tibet, and two have even climbed to the summit of Mount Everest! They’re more than just expert trail runners with deep knowledge, though — they’re also really great people.
We keep our trips to ten or fewer guests, and rarely exceed a 7:1 guest to guide ratio. This assures that all Run the Alps trips feel friendly and informal, with plenty of opportunities to learn from and chat with the guide or guides on your trip.
